My Services

01.

Online or face to face.

We all express ourselves in different ways. I work in a person centred way with each client and my aim is to help move/hold whatever comes up in their unique expression, be it verbally or non-verbally. Sometimes when words are not enough, not useful, not what we need, etc., then we can use sand tray, movement, music or art to make sense of our world through image and metaphor.

02.

I have been working creatively with children for over 20 years.

I have experience working with SEN, selective mutes, social anxiety, bereavement, divorce, illness, a parent in prison and neglect to name just a few possibilities which may affect their learning and social skills.

The Creative Arts Therapy process:

The first assessment period takes 3-4 weeks after which targets are made. The process is different with each child, as they will naturally veer towards their own medium of expression, be it art, drama, music, play or dance. Making an attachment also differs with each child. For some it takes a few weeks, and with others it can take much longer. There are the rare times when an attachment is not made. And this will also be an important part of their process.

03.

A more somatic approach to therapy. Online or face to face.

I am very interested in using Authentic Movement as part of a dance therapy process. It is a Jungian method of using a mover and witness in the therapy room. It can be a very powerful process in learning to witness one self, to tune into inner impulses and into a more abstract somatic process and learning about one's own inner landscapes and movement styles. These processes can help to become more embodied as well as learning how our movement and embodiment reflect our emotional and psychological needs.

Argentine Tango  for Couples

I have been learning, dancing, teaching and performing tango in London/Bristol, Helsinki/Vaasa and Buenos Aires since 2007. I teach with particular attention to connection, as well as learning the movement language of tango, musicality and improvisation. This can also be an insightful and wonderful way to explore your relationship with an experienced Dance Movement Psychotherapist.
